With the heat in Brazil, it’s no wonder that Brazilian houses are full of cobogós. You are architecture interns and have been given the task of planning a mosaic of cobogós — but you will need to understand your clients’ whims to do a good job. Time to get to work!

A card-laying, cooperative/solo puzzle microgame with only 18 cards. At setup, 3 cards are flipped to show different polyomino to be built. The other cards are placed to create those patterns, avoiding covering glass blocks. If the players get all patterns done until the deck runs out, they win!

The game was launched as part of the Volume 1 of the Piquinim Collection, an independent 18-card game anthology inspired by Brazilian themes and culture. The crowdfunding campaign for the volume was funded in less than 2 hours, one of the fastest in the country's history, and finished with more than 550% of the goal, unlocking 3 expansions (Glasswork, Large Window and Special Clients) as stretch goals.

Behind the design process

You can't forget your first published game, can you? Created from the knowledge of my wife as an architect during your home renovation, it was originally a competitive game until it became clear that the experience wasn't building up (!) in a fun way. Between changing the theme or the whole game, I decided to change the whole game and make it cooperative, just to be now one of my most elegant designs.

Cobogó was not only a big learning process because of being "my first game", but it was also my first time self-publishing a game, my first crowdfunding campaign and my first experiences with factories and fullfillment. Although I hope to never (ever) do it again, it helped me to understand the game production process, and be more aware of all problems that happen during publishing.
